Hiring the Bandstand
The Todmorden Bandstand has been lovingly renovated and brought back to life for the benefit of the local community. Todmorden Bandstand Group and Todmorden Town Council now work together to manage the Bandstand as a venue for performance and celebration. It is available to hire by music promoters, community groups, individuals and event organisers of all types.
If you would like to enquire about hiring the Bandstand, please use the Booking Calendar at the bottom of this page. This allows you to check availability and complete an online form to provisionally reserve a date, and provides us with more information about the proposed event.

Licensing an Event
Although Todmorden Bandstand is now owned by Todmorden Town Council, Centre Vale Park is owned by Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council (CMBC). Therefore permission still needs to be obtained from CMBC to use Centre Vale Park for any event and particularly to avoid any date clashes.
Todmorden Town Council now holds the premises license for events to take place at the Bandstand. This means that for smaller scale events that do not restrict access to the park, organisers will not need to apply to Calderdale Council for a Temporary Event Notice.
However organisers will need to work with the Town Council and the Bandstand Group to make sure events are managed in a safe and proper manner. They will also need to submit an Event Management Plan to the Town Council so that it can make sure the event complies with its premises license. The Town Council will then check with Calderdale Council that they are happy with the Event Management Plan and that the proposed date for an event doesn’t clash with any other use of the park.
The first stage in hiring the bandstand is to make a booking request using the calendar below. Ideally organisers should try to do this at least 12 weeks before the planned date of the event. Once your request has been received, Todmorden Town Council will contact you with details of the next steps for event planning and approval.
Ticketed large-scale events using the Bandstand
Events of a larger nature that involve areas of Centre Vale Park beyond the Bandstand, or use of the Bandstand as part of an overall event in the Park, will have to be approved initially by CMBC.
Once CMBC approval has been granted, you will need to come to Todmorden Town Council to hire the Bandstand. The Event Management Plan submitted to CMBC must be made available to the Town Council, to satisfy us that the purpose of hire and proposals to manage the Bandstand fall in line with our policies and License.Â

You must comply with the health & safety instructions provided for the venue.
Site Access
Cars and small vans (7.5 tonne axle limit) can access the Bandstand via the Northgate entrance from Burnley Road.
This entrance has a lockable barrier which will need to be opened by a volunteer member of the Bandstand Group to allow entry and exit. If you need vehicle access this will need to be arranged in advance as part of the Event Management Plan.Â
Vehicles MUST adhere to the strict 5mph speed limit within the park, and be accompanied by personnel on foot whilst moving from the entrance to the park to the Bandstand area and back. Cars require one person at the front, vans and larger vehicles one front and back, so hirers should ensure sufficient manpower is available to meet this requirement.
After unloading at the Bandstand, all vehicles must be parked off site.
